Born in 1989.

Irma Unušić works in field of contemporary dance as performer, choreographer and educator. After graduating at Franjo Lučić Art High School, in contemporary dance department, in Velika Gorica, she continues to develop in the artistic field in dance. IMRC – Inclusive movement research collective is a first collective where she is included as a dance artist and teacher working in field of inclusive dance. Nukleon (Aleksandra Janeva Imfeld) and Bella Ciao (Silvia Marchig) are two performances by IMRC collective where she has been participating as a performer and a co-creator. Its premise is that dance and movement are not conditioned on certain physical given abilities, but that physical expression, experience of dance and performance of it belongs to everyone.

In 2017 she founded SHOOMA, art organisation from where she starts to work in field of contemporary dance for young audience. First art work of that kind was interactive performance for children 4-8 years old, called Astronauts (2018) where she performed and choreographed. In the field of education, Irma is working as a dance teacher in cultural center in a small town in Croatia, Bjelovar from 2015, where she strives to spread the seed of contemporary dance in many ways.

Since 2015, she has been participating in the regional project, working on the development of contemporary dance for children and young people - Generator. Within the Generator she participated in two choreographic laboratories held by Hendrik Lebon and Dalija Aćin Thelander. In 2017, SHOOMA became an active member of Kliker platform, which promotes the development of dance for young audience in Croatia. Also, within the Kliker network, Irma participates in creating Teen Generator project aimed to popularize contemporary dance for youth (2018/2019). She holds a bachelor’s degree in pre-primary school education and master’s in cultural anthropology.
